Application Instructions and Rates
Calcean recommends a soil test be conducted to ensure the correct amount of Lawn & Garden Plant Calcium is used. However, as a general guide for lawn and garden application, please see the dosage chart at right depending on your area’s size. Spread the recommended dosage of Plant Calcium over your lawn or garden using a standard spreader or mix into the soil.

For farmers and gardeners who use hydroponics systems and/or large-scale irrigation systems, Calcean also mills its Plant Calcium into a fine powder that can be mixed with water for applying calcium to plants through watering methods. The powder can also be mixed into soil, like its granular counterpart.

How to Use a Garden Spreader
SandyCal Oolitic Aragonite Plant Calcium can be mixed into soil by hand or with a trowel. It can also be spread using your standard garden spreader that you can purchase from your local hardware/garden supply store.
Mark off an area that is 400 sq ft or 20’ x 20’.
Determine the amount of product you need from the instructions on the bag. In this case, you will need 10 lbs. of SandyCal Oolitic Aragonite Plant Calcium.
Add the determined quantity to your spreader and set your spreader to medium. Walk at your normal pace over the marked area.
If you have material left in your spreader at the end, your setting is too low. If you have run out of material part way through, your setting is too high.
Adjust as needed. All spreaders will have different calibrations, and this method will provide the most accurate calibration for your spreader.
A spreader is an effective way to evenly distribute and spread your plant calcium and fertilizers over lawns or gardens. When SandyCal Oolitic Aragonite is used with fertilizers, it improves their efficiency and prevents leaching by holding the fertilizers in the soil, where they belong. Over time, you can reduce your fertilizer usage.
